Here are some ways to make the most of your time here:
Things To Do in San Pedro
- Beach Days: Relax at Secret Beach, a local favorite for swimming, lounging, and cocktails.
- Eat Local: Elvi’s Kitchen was a 10/10 every time I went. If you are a curry person you must get Jenni's Curry with a side of plantains. Also make sure to enjoy our signature drink the "Island Roho". Also, grab a bite from one of the many street vendors serving Belizean specialties.
- Water Adventures: I recommend Island Dream Tours to go snorkeling or diving at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve or Shark Ray Alley — Some of the best in the world. Check out Reef Adventures Dive & Tours. I had an amazing time swimming with the sharks. Plus, the meet up point for both of these are adventures are 3 minutes away at the beach.
- Cultural Stops: Stroll through the streets of San Pedro Town, popping into local shops, churches, and cafés.
- Nightlife: Live bands, salsa nights, and beach bars that don’t believe in bedtime. Sandals optional; good vibes mandatory.
- Coffee/Fresh Pressed Juice: Hands down my favorite coffee/juice shop is The Farm House.
Landmarks
The Truck Stop
Belize’s original container-park hangout. Food trucks, ice cream, and golden-hour sunsets that make your camera feel important. Pull up, graze, linger.
Belize Chocolate Company
Bean-to-bar bliss made from cacao grown by small family farms in southern Belize. Pop in for treats — or book a tasty little chocolate class while you’re here.
Palapa Bar & Grill
The island’s iconic over-the-water bar. Sea breeze, easy beats, and that “I’m actually in the Caribbean” view.
Step into over a millennium of island Maya history on the Mainland of Belize. All the thrills, none of the hassle: Lamanai/Altun Ha Maya ruins, cave tubing + zipline, ATM Cave, waterfalls, Belize Zoo—San Pedro pickup, back by dinner.
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World — a massive marine sinkhole you can see from space. Take a day trip by boat or catch a breathtaking flyover tour for the full “jaw-dropping” effect.
Whether you chase sunsets, chocolate, or ancient stories, San Pedro’s got you. Do a lot, do a little, or do absolutely nothing—either way, your time here is yours. If you want help booking tours or a golf cart, just say the word.
